Declaring What You Want
Nothing ever happened that someone didn’t decide was going to happen. In other words, what the hell do you want?
If you haven’t figured that out yet, now is a good time to start!
Want an album?
Want a novel?
Want to go on a globe-trotting tour across Europe? Name it.
The process is easy.
Name it. Want it. Get it. Bam!
Declaring your desires and intentions is your first step on this climb to success.
Selecting Your Partner
This person will be the one you will lean on and report to and sometimes even work with. Message someone in this group who looks friendly and contact them. Chat it up and if it sounds like a fit, ask them. (Don’t be shy. It’s not like you’re asking them to wear your letterman.) OR maybe you have the perfect person in mind but they are not yet a part of this fantabulous bootcamp-y thing. Invite them! Get them to do it with you. Even if you have to smash them over the head with a cave-club and hair-drag them to the Promag-den! Do it! It’s for their own good.
Try to pick a partner who is like your missing half. They are organized, you’re a mess. They are focused, you’re a scatterbrain. They are punctual, you’re ‘in traffic’.
Well, hopefully not. But if you know someone who’s great at graphic design, while you’re a wiz at the formation of letters into cohesive thought, maybe you could work together. Being creative can also mean being resourceful. Have fun!
And don’t kill each other in the process.
Telling Friends & Family
This next 14 weeks is going to be grueling. You are going to be spending a lot of time learning and creating and setting up and planning and executing. You are going to need all the support and understanding you can get.
You will need to let your friends and family know what you are doing and why. It’s important that they are behind you, as you will be spending more time on this and they will need to know you aren’t having a torrid affair or supporting a developing crank addiction.
So talk to them. Get their understanding and answer any questions they may have. Set agreements with them. Remember, you are not allowed to stop being a father, daughter, best friend or unofficial love-muffin. You must make and keep your agreements to them too. They are supporting you in their capacity, so you must support them as well. No allowed becoming a selfish heathen.
